Davide Galbiati came to my studio to add some finishing touches to his sculpture. We bought this piece in September and it is such a beautiful, graceful, peaceful figure. If you would like to see more of Davide’s work have a look at www.davidegalbiati.com

New Courses For 2012

Give something back to yourself – join me to explore your creativity.
Approaching learning from a holistic and spiritual perspective, I am introducing a series of courses aimed at nurturing and developing creativity in adults and children.
I consider myself fortunate to be able to pursue a creative life. I do not believe that artists alone own creativity. It is within all of us and affects our spiritual, mental and emotional development throughout life.
I want to introduce you to a new way of learning through play, and by engaging with and trusting our imagination and intuition.
I am interested in “handology”, not the study of palm reading, but using our hands intelligently, to produce and create.
The courses are designed to develop creative expression rather than pottery skills, though participants will be learning about ceramic techniques.

Christmas Exhibition 2011
26/27th November 3/4, 10/11th December
Earlier this year I worked with a reception class of children aged 4-5 years old at a school in Birmingham. I was amazed by the children’s abilities and I really enjoyed working with this age group. Using the children’s drawings as my starting point, I decided to create a collection of tableware for the school. This is where Arty Pants was born, as a direct response to working with those children.
This project is the first of it’s kind and it is being piloted at the school as well as my studio during my Christmas Exhibition. The aim is to deliver creative projects that will inspire, children, teachers, parents and the school with the potential to produce items to sale to raise funds for the school.

I was recently selected to take part on Creative Catalysts Initiative (CCI), organised by The Craft Council, Creative Partnerships and Creativity Culture and Education. The idea behind the initiative was to encourage partnership between professional creative practitioners (both arts and crafts) and schools. 10 practitioners paired up with various schools and collaborated with them to deliver a project aimed at encouraging creativity in school children and inspiring teachers . I worked with a reception group of children in a school based in Birmingham.
Royal Academy Summer Exhibiton 2010
Posted on April 2nd, 2010 by Kellie, in News
This is my third submission to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition The first year I entered with a wall mounted ceramics piece in the sculpture section and was successful at being selected to the second phase. The second year I entered a piece of my mixed media work and submitted it into the unglazed section. Delivering my works to the centre of London was incredibly stressful; nearly getting me a parking ticket and seeing me knock a motor cyclist of his bike ( a long story and obviously not my fault).
