City Break is about taking the time to stop and look.

I often feel a deep desire to get back in touch with life by stopping to look at a bird flying, watching a sunset, walking in a park, touching a leaf, and smelling a flower.

Life moves very fast and the demands on our time are stressful. When we live in a city and are immersed in the manmade, our soul can yearn for the outdoors, to restore balance and make us realise what we value and what we are missing.

My intention is to bring an interpretation of nature to inside environments, to uplift our spirits and soften the places where we live and work.

The work is inspired by aerial views, combining cityscape, cartography and landscape. My wall-mounted installations, which are both two and three-dimensional, depict abstracted images of places that have inspired me.

This exhibition is a reminder to help me keep appreciating and respecting all aspects of nature.
