A reflection of my Open House and Sculpture Garden

It is just over a week now since the exhibition closed and I am missing the buzz of the visitors to my house.

The cabin is an important feature of the exhibition and it's taken from January to May to complete its transformation. We first repaired the roof and then cleared everything we had stored in it. Next, we insulated and lined the walls and installed lighting, before painting inside and out.

The exhibition is up, and I can finally catch my breath and stop to relax and congratulate ourselves on how much we have achieved…

We have been planning the outdoor space for some months now in order for it to be presentable for the open house. It hasn’t been a matter of gardening, more like land clearing…

The Story of the Southdowns Dog

September 24, 2016

This is the SouthDowns dog.

He lives in Brighton with a little boy and his family.

One day, the SouthDowns dog and his little boy went for a walk by the sea.

They walked on the pebbles

They strolled by Old Steine

And one cheeky seagull stole the dog’s ice cream!

‘Come back with that!’ said the dog

As the seagull flew off with his cone

The dog turned back to his little boy

But the dog was all alone.

The little boy was nowhere to be seen.

So the dog searched all over Old Steyne.

Where could the little boy be?

The dog headed to the South Downs to look for the boy.

He passed by Jack and Jill

Over the chalky hills

And across the fields of green

But the little boy was nowhere to be seen.

Where could the little boy be?

The sad SouthDowns dog walked home

To the Old Steine

Where under a tree sat – the little boy!

Holding an ice cream.

You can find the SouthDowns dog under the same tree in the Old Steine, Brighton
